Instagram Reels launched in India to rival TikTok

What is this feature called Instagram Reels? 

Instagram Reels is a short video feature which is launched by Instagram and is present for the Indian users as well. This feature is similar to the TikTok app. The users can create music videos of 15 seconds. 

Instagram Reels feature also has many filters and challenges. As said by the VP of Facebook, Vishal Shah, these videos can be shared beyond your followers. This means that with the help of these, Instagram influencers can reach a wider audience.

Vishal Shah also said that this Instagram Reels feature has been added considering the analytics of Instagram. Most of the users usually post videos of 15 seconds and so. Also, the users wanted their videos to stick longer than the 24-hour timeline of stories.

According to the analytics, 45 percent of the videos came under this category. Thus, this feature has been brought into existence. The Instagram Reels allow users to create a video with a song from Instagram’s catalog.

The users can make creative videos through this feature and expand their reach. The users can share the Instagram Reels either in Explore or on their Feed. Although, there is no monetization scenario added in this feature as of now.

After countries like Brazil, Germany, and France, India stands at number 4 where this feature has been tested. Instagram Reels has been launched in India and for this, Instagram has partnered with many labels. This helps in providing a vast range of songs to the users.

How to use Instagram Reels? 

Instagram Reels is simple to use the feature. This feature has been added to the Instagram camera, just like the Boomerang feature. In order to get started, all you need to do is open your Instagram camera. Go to the Reels feature and start recording.

Just like TikTok, Instagram Reels also have options like choosing music from an Instagram music library. There are options like timer and speed change. Furthermore, the filters add on to the video presentation.

First, start with recording a 15 seconds video after choosing the song you like. After that, choose the audience criteria you want to share your Instagram Reels video. You can share it in Explore mode which allows everyone on the platform to see your video. 

This feature can also be seen as an extension to the Instagram Stories in away. Instagram Reels also provide several AR effects to be used in your video. 

The users can record multiple 15 seconds of videos at a time and then add different filters in each clip. Instagram Reels also have the feature of re-recording the video. Moreover, by using the ‘Use Audio” feature, the users can use their original voice.

How to create these Instagram Reels? 

Now, it’s time to go through the steps which are used to create Instagram Reels, likewise:

  1. Go to the Instagram Camera
  2. Select the option Reels on the bottom of the camera screen
  3. Click on the Audio option and choose a song from the Instagram Music Library
  4. The users can also choose to record their own voice in the Instagram Reels just like TikTok
  5. Apply an AR effect to make your video more lively and presentable (if you want)
  6. Click on the Timer option to record your video with your hands being free
  7. The Speed option is also there to turn the song’s speed faster or slower

Instagram Reels: The Rival of TikTok 

Instagram has already announced the launch of Instagram Reels in the U.S. There is no doubt that this feature is launched in India to out beat the TikTok application. This feature is also a short-music video recording feature, having similar inclusions as TikTok has.

This factor is important to keep in mind that this feature is launched in India, just after the ban of TikTok in the market. According to the recent News Reports, Instagram Reels is going to be launched in more than 50 countries.

Instagram Reels has been designed to challenge the TikTok’s hold. It includes speed control, timer set up, and effects, just like TikTok. However, it is a part of the bigger app; that is, Instagram and doesn’t have two-tabbed scrollable feeds.

There is no doubt that Instagram Reels has been brought as the TikTok rival. Also, with the mass public usage of the TikTok, it is also one of the smart moves to gain more Instagrammers on the platform.
